GP’s Sellustrate Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

GP’s Sellustrate (the “App”) helps Shopify merchants prepare product descriptions, sales presentations, hashtags and search-engine content. It is operated by Geanos Giftware & Novelties, Australia (“we”, “us” or “our”). This policy describes information handled through the App. Shopping in our retail store is covered by that store’s separate privacy policy.

Information we handle

Installation and authentication. We receive and store Shopify authentication-session information, including the store domain, access permissions, access tokens, session identifiers and expiry information. Depending on the session Shopify supplies, this may include a staff user’s identifier, name, email address, language and account-role information. These records enable authorised access to the App and your store.

Product information. When you select a product, the App retrieves product information such as its title, description, vendor, type, tags, search-engine fields, image links and alternative text. It may also retrieve product options, variants, prices, SKUs, barcodes, inventory quantities, tax and shipping indicators, weight and product timestamps, where available through its granted permissions.

Information you submit. We process your product briefs, intended audience, benefits, specifications, writing preferences and design choices. When you import a supplier link, we retrieve information from that page and process its URL, product evidence and image links.

Optional reviews. If you add customer reviews, the App processes the display names, review text, ratings, headlines and purchase-verification indicators you supply. Approved reviews may be saved to Shopify and displayed publicly with your product presentation. Only submit reviews and personal information you are entitled to use and publish. Do not include sensitive personal information in briefs or reviews.

The App does not retrieve customer-account records or orders through Shopify’s customer or order APIs in its current workflow. This does not exclude personal information you choose to enter in product content, reviews or support messages.

Billing, support and operation. Shopify handles subscription approval and billing. The App checks subscription status; it does not collect payment-card numbers. We receive information you send when requesting support. The App also produces operational logs containing information such as request paths, store domains, webhook events, errors and AI request diagnostics. Hosting services may process network and request metadata to deliver and secure the service.

How information is used

We use information to authenticate access; retrieve and prepare product content; generate writing, hashtags and SEO suggestions; save product changes you request; check subscription access; respond to support requests; diagnose failures; protect the service; and meet applicable obligations.

When you save an existing product, the App can also save its previous product text and related fields in a recovery metafield in Shopify. New products are created as drafts when created through the App. Content you publish through your storefront can become public.

AI processing and other recipients

OpenAI. AI features send product information and merchant instructions to OpenAI’s API. This can include existing descriptions and variant details, supplier-page text, source URLs and image URLs included in the product record. The App’s dedicated review fields are used for publishing and are not included in its current AI-generation input; personal information placed elsewhere in your brief or product text may still be transmitted.

The App requests that OpenAI not store Responses API results for later retrieval. This setting is not a promise of zero retention: separate provider security, abuse-monitoring and legal retention may apply. OpenAI’s current data controls are described at https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/your-data.

Shopify. Shopify receives product changes, presentation content and optional approved reviews when you save them, and processes authentication and billing information. Shopify’s privacy information is available at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.

Infrastructure and support. Our hosting, database and email providers process information needed to operate the App and respond to support requests. Google Cloud provides the App’s hosting and database infrastructure. The production database is located in Melbourne, Australia (australia-southeast1), and its configured backup location is Asia. Supplier websites receive requests when you ask the App to retrieve their pages; external image hosts may receive requests when images are loaded.

We promote the App on social media, but do not upload merchants’ email addresses or other App-user details to social-media or advertising platforms for audience targeting. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to address unlawful activity or protect legal rights.

Storage, retention and deletion

The App database stores authentication sessions rather than a separate archive of product briefs or generated presentations. Product content and recovery information saved through the App remain in Shopify, subject to Shopify’s operation and your store’s management of that content. Uninstalling the App does not automatically undo product changes or remove all saved product content.

The App contains handlers to delete authentication-session records when an authenticated Shopify uninstall notification includes a session, and when Shopify sends a store-erasure notification. Actual deletion depends on successful notification delivery and processing. Contact us if you need help with remaining information.

Our standard Google Cloud application-log bucket is configured to retain logs for 30 days. Automated database backups are enabled with a retention setting of seven backups; this is a count of backups, not a guarantee of deletion after seven days. Point-in-time recovery is enabled, with transaction logs configured for seven-day retention. Support emails remain in our inbox until manually deleted; there is no fixed automatic deletion period for that correspondence. Provider-held information is also subject to the relevant provider’s retention rules. We do not promise immediate deletion from all logs, backups or third-party systems.

We are based in Australia. The production database is located in Melbourne, Australia, and its configured backup location is Asia. Shopify, OpenAI and other service providers may process information outside your country. For questions about overseas processing or the safeguards applicable to your information, contact us using the details below.

Security and your choices

The App uses Shopify authentication and validates Shopify webhook signatures. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep account credentials secure and avoid sending sensitive information through support or product-generation fields.

Contact us to request access to, correction of, export of or deletion of personal information we hold, or to raise an objection or privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity. We will handle requests under applicable law and Shopify’s requirements. For information controlled by a merchant, including a published review, contact that merchant; we can assist with App-related processing where appropriate. You may also contact the relevant privacy regulator.

Uninstalling the App revokes its ongoing store access through Shopify. Contact us separately about information already saved or retained. The App is intended for business use and is not directed to children.

Updates and contact

We may update this policy as our practices change. We will update the date and provide any notice required by applicable law.
